long admired palm flower patterns, but whenever I looked at knitting charts, they always seemed too complicated to attempt. Recently, while flipping through an old knitting book, I came across another palm flower sleeve design again {}. I wanted a light, flowing woolen sweater that would flutter gracefully in the breeze {}. So, with a little effort {}, I rummaged through my stash of yarn and found a ball of four-ply ice silk-linen hand-knitting yarn paired with a strand of 20-count linen-cotton yarn. And thus, a fresh mid-sleeve palm flower sweater was born {}. I basically followed the chart from the knitting book for both the basic stitch count and neckline shaping {}. Since I wasn’t particularly fond of the pictured hemline, I skipped adding any border edging. For the front and back pieces, I didn’t do underarm shaping either, simply knitting them straight up. I personally really love the finished result. With all openwork patterns, the entire knitting process went by quickly too! {}
