A hat from “Bare Marriage”

The original 1-up-1-down was changed to 2-up-2-down, resulting in a total of 132 stitches, which gives just the right circumference. My son snatched the first hat before it was even finished, so I had no choice but to make another one. ## Yarn: Jin Duosi hand-knitting yarn purchased from a physical store. Composition: 30% mink cashmere, 60% alpaca wool, 10% Terylene fiber. ## Needles: Size 8 ## Knitting method: Cast on 132 stitches, work single ribbing for 6 rows, then proceed with the pattern: 18 purl, 2 knit, 2 purl, 2 knit, 2 purl (2 knit, 28 stitches, 2 knit),## 2 purl,## 2 knit,## 2 purl## , ## 2 knit, 18 purl,## 2 knit, 2 purl, 2 knit, 2 purl (2 knit, 28 stitches, 2 knit),## 2 purl,## 2 knit,## 2 purl## , ## 2 knit. Among these, 18 stitches form a diamond shape, while the section in parentheses represents the cable pattern. After completing two sets of cables (about 5 inches), begin decreasing stitches gradually until reaching the desired length and stitch count, then close off. Thread through the remaining loops, tighten, add a pom-pom, and secure. Final length: 6 inches; the second hat measures 6.5 inches. ## On the second hat, I accidentally misknitted the cable pattern, skipping four rows—but I’m too lazy to unravel it.
