a needle, you can crochet size 4; using yarn, I used five skeins of variegated magic ball yarn, two skeins of coffee-colored lace yarn, and one skein of gold thread.
During the crafting process, I crocheted about ten leaf motifs according to the pattern. But feeling the individual flower elements were a bit large, I substituted them with smaller leaves. After completing all the maple leaf pieces, wanting to add some eye-catching details, I selected a few favorite motifs and added golden edging around them.
While crocheting the main maple leaf body, whenever the variegated yarn turned out too dark or too light, I crocheted little bread-shaped embellishments as accents—I don’t like colors that are either too deep or too pale.
When it came to arranging the panels, I followed the teacher’s suggested approach, gradually laying them out and fine-tuning until I was satisfied.
Finally, there was the connecting part—though it looks complicated and challenging to many, once you start working on it, you quickly find yourself immersed in the process and realize it’s not really that difficult. Even if the connections don’t look quite right at first, you can always unravel a few stitches and rearrange things until everything fits nicely.
